Senior Internal Auditor

Function:
The main focus of the position of Senior Internal Auditor is to audit the activities of various Newmont Mining Corporation departments and entities to determine adherence to established plans, policies, procedures and good business practices. Fulfills team leader role on certain audits without direct supervision and participates in more complex audits under the direction of an internal AuditManager or Internal Audit Supervisor. Trains and supervises the activities of start auditors.

Main duties:

  • Under general supervision, performs the following functions:
  • Performs assignments requiring understanding and application of audit principles, practices, and concepts.
  • Assist in devising own methods to accomplish audits.
  • Assist in planning work on assigned segments of the audit and in determining the extent of audit testing and workpaper content.
  • Review transactions, documents, records, reports, processes, and procedures and prepare audit workpapers, recording and summarizing date.
  • Discuss audit findings with operating personnel to verify facts and obtain background information to support conclusions and reach agreement with client.
  • Assist as requested with the summarization of audit findings and the preparation of format audit reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations of audit results.

Working conditions:
The role is based in Jakarta, However, it requires extensive travel to Batu Hijau, Sumbawa (80% or more). Additional travels over extended periods of 3-4 weeks in duration to domestic and foreign locations may be required to conduct audits.Conditions may be primitive at times.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Administration and between 2 to 4 years of public accounting or auditing experience or between 3 to 5 years of relevant commerce internal audit experience.
  • CPA or equivalent designation.
  • Big 4 accounting firm and senior in charge role experience preferred.
  • Familiar with Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
  • Knowledge of the mining industry is essential.
  • Requires a high level of technical skills in internal control and auditing techniques.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • You must be a confident individual who is capable of engaging senior leaders across the business.

PT. Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM), a joint venture company between the Government of Indonesia and Nippon Asahan Aluminium Co., Ltd. was established in Jakarta. INALUM is to construct and operate the Asahan Project, in accordance with Master Agreement. The shareholding ratio between the Indonesian Government and Nippon Asahan Aluminium Co., Ltd. on the establishment of the company was 10% to 90%. To implement the provisions of Master Agreement, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia issued a Presidential Decree No. 5 of 1976 for the establishment of Asahan Development Authority as a representative of the Government responsible for the smooth construction and development of the Asahan Project.

INALUM can be recorded as a pioneer and the first company in Indonesia dealing with an aluminium smelting industry with a huge investment of 411 billion Yen .

UNICEF

Indonesia has made significant progress towards achieving its basic education targets. However, while the country as a whole is on track to broadly achieve the second Millennium Development Goal (MDG) of achieving universal primary education, the situation varies from district to district. In 2008 the national primary school net enrolment rate (NER) was 96 per cent, with equal access overall for boys and girls. The country has also made good progress in recent years on the Education for All (EFA) target to provide nine years of education for all girls and boys.

Papua and West Papua provinces however are considerably lagging behind the rest of Indonesia. 91 per cent of children in Papua and 86 per cent of children in West Papua attend primary school compared with the net national average of 96 per cent. At junior secondary school level (years 13-15), only 60 per cent in Papua and 57 per cent in West Papua are enrolled compared to the gross national average of 91 per cent. Girls comprise 44 per cent of primary level enrolment, suggesting exclusion of a small proportion of girls which is not the case for the country as a whole (at a national level, Indonesia has achieved gender parity in primary education). Districts in Papua and West Papua are less likely to be able to achieve MDG 2 or Government of Indonesia’s EFA targets by 2015 than the rest of the country.

Significant factors are currently hampering the development of the education sector in Tanah Papua. Limited capacity in planning and budgeting, weak monitoring and evaluation framework, inadequacy of quality teaching, poor learning environments, lack of appropriate teaching and learning materials and imbalances in distribution of teachers coupled with absenteeism are some of the reasons for such delay in the development of the education sector. The situation is further exacerbated by social issues such poverty, vulnerability to HIV, early marriage and child labor.

UNICEF and AusAID, in cooperation with the Government of Indonesia, have accordingly prioritized their technical assistance in Tanah Papua to support the following 2 components: (i) focused capacity strengthening for district governments in education strategic planning, budgeting and M&E and (ii) improvement of teaching practices for model replication for access to quality primary education.

L4 EDUCATION MANAGER, PAPUA
Under the general supervision of the Chief Field office in Papua and Chief of Education and Adolescent Development Cluster (EAD), the Education manager will be responsible for the planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the Education programme to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the programme management, delivery and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives in Papua and West Papua.

Major duties and Responsibilities :
  • Responsible to provide overall technical and managerial support to the planning, programming and implementation of the UNICEF’ supported Education and Adolescent Development programme in Papua and West Papua.
  • Develop AusAid sectoral workplan and formulate, implement and monitor key activities, ensuring alignment with country priorities and approaches defined in the programme strategy. More specifically:
    • Provide technical support to Government authorities in developing their capacity in data collection, priorities identification and preparation of budgeted education operational plans
    • Provide support to the development of stimulus packages to improve access to quality education in primary schools.

  • Provide strategic oversight of the program monitoring and evaluation framework and contribute to related reports. Ensure quality control of the various baselines, surveys and mappings planned under the AusAid proposal.
  • Bring coherence and synergy between the Education programme and other relevant sectors of UNICEF’s assistance to Government.
  • Ensure exchange of information, experience, identify potential bottlenecks and new strategies and courses of action to accelerate/improve delivery of services and achieve Education programme objectives.
  • Interact with Government and other partners, NGOs, UN and bilateral agencies in the different stages of the programme implementation and conduct periodic programme reviews with key partners and stakeholders to identify good practices and gaps/bottlenecks and recommend appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Responsible for leading and managing a group of professional and support staff to develop manage and administer the programme.
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the AusAid Program Steering Committee, as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience :
  • Relevant post graduate level qualifications in education, preferably with a focus on educational leadership and management, policy development and analysis.

Investor Relation Supervisor
Task & Responsibilities:
Main responsibility is to support Investor Relation function by making quarterly analysis on business unit performance including benchmark it to competitors and / or industry. Which business unit will be supervised by new employee depends on future job allocation among Investor Relation members. This job includes maintain and update data base on business units, industry, and macro economy. New employees will gradually increase his / her involvement in any projects such as analyst briefing, annual general meeting, annual reports, etc.

  • Understand the company’s business operation
  • Collect data and / or information in relation to business units, industry and macro economy
  • Update data base in relation to business units, industry, and macro economy
  • Provide quarterly analysis business units
  • Provide analysis on business units performance in comparison to the peers or industry
  • Attend any regular meeting of business units and prepare minutes of meeting on any issues discussed during the meetings
  • Attend and observe any investor meetings to speed up his / her learning process in understanding Company’s business operation as well as Investor Relation job
  • Attend any investor meetings and prepare minutes of meetings
  • Become a second man to lead any investor meetings

Qualification Required :

  • Preferably Male
  • Minimum education : Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from reputable university (overseas university would be an advantage)
  • Minimum three years experience
  • Have knowledge in accounting and / or finance (including financial analysis technics)
  • Good analytical thinking for doing in-depth analysis
  • Computer literacy (at least MS Office)
  • Good in English (preferable both in written and speaking)
  • Able to work in a team
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Should be ready dealing with investors / analyst
